"It taught me to use my voice and put myself out in the world for my work. Photography definitely created the person I am today.”
Eighteen year-old California photographer, Kai Alexander (@kaiialexander), started his career in photography as a freshman in high school, starting small and working his way up. Kai’s photography is unique, creative, and diverse, while maintaining consistency in his work.

Starting by taking pictures of families and enhancing his creative skills through classes in photography, Kai learned his abilities and talents in photography. He tells MPS, “The reason I got into photography was mostly because I love to meet new people and have a job where I could do my own things and be my own boss.” Kai’s roots in photography as well as his motivation that evolved from connections with the public as well as clients is key to success. When we asked him what keeps him inspired, “To be honest other photographers inspire me to do my best. Being a creative in a competitive industry which is photography, makes me push myself to get where I want to be in the future.” This ensures that Kai is not only pushing himself to constantly do more, he is looking at the overview of the competitive industry that photography is. “Living life in general influences my creative styling,” he says, “because when I see people through my eyes I see a memory that can last a long time. The most natural movements people do look appealing.”

We asked Kai what he’s learned so far, and he shares, “For the past four years of my life I learned so much. It taught me to use my voice and put myself out in the world for my work. Photography definitely created the person I am today.” He also adds to those interested in photography, “People will find you from you just putting your creativity out in the world.”
The effort and thought Kai puts into his creative pursuits, as well as his talent for photography is what makes him the incredible photographer he is today.
